Congratulations to the following BCMS students for placing at the STLP State Championships in Lexington: 1st place Infographic CDA Project - Josie Harolow; 1st place UK Web Coding Challenge - Alex Taylor and Ross Reed (2nd year they received 1st place for this event); 2nd Place Middle School Drone Challenge - Justin Rhinehart, Loren Snyder and Tyler Collins. What an awesome display of teamwork, creative thinking, and skill mastery!

The Barren County Middle School Intermediate Band traveled to John Hardin High School for their annual band assessment performance. The intermediate band received the highest rating on their performance today!

Today the Guilty or Innocent: Convince the Jury PBL group members were finalizing their evidence boards and closing arguments for Innovation Night’s jury to determine whether the defendant is guilty or innocent. The public is invited to attend the BCMS Innovation Night on Thursday from 4:00-6:00!

Day 2 of PBL - students dug into their projects today! The public is invited to our PBL Innovation Showcase at BCMS on March 28th 4:00-6:00 p.m.

BCMS PBL groups met today to begin plannning and problem solving for their projects they will present during the Innovation Showcase at BCMS on March 28th. Several volunteers from our community volunteered their time today to lend their expertise to the students.

BCMS Trojanette Basketball Tryout dates are Tuesday, April 23rd, Wednesday, April 24th, & Thursday, April 25th, 3:15-5:15 each day at BCMS. All physicals must be turned in to Coach Spillman before any student can participate in tryouts. If the physical is not turned in, the student athlete cannot tryout.
Students wanting to tryout may ride the bus after school to the middle school. Parents may pick up athletes behind the middle school at 5:15 p.m.

Today, March 19th, Barren County Middle School FFA competed at the Barren Regional FFA Contests. Students represented BCMS FFA very well bringing home four 1st place wins and one 2nd place win.

A big shout-out to BC student Acey Houchens, who competed as Tiny Miss Kentucky in the Tiny Miss USA for the Earth pageant. She won top honors for her interview, placing first out of 120 girls! How cool is that?

Y Club Members Lauren Bass, Olivia Gulley, Katelyn Huffaker, Mollie Webb, Emily Adams, and Emma Warren participated in the Kentucky Youth Assembly. BC won the Premier Delegation Award, and Olivia won the Outstanding Delegate Award! Very proud of these BC students!
